Judy...Today would have been the 101st birthday of my father, Elliott Royce. He was a wonderful father/grandfather, friend and community leader who filled his days with good deeds for everyone and anyone. How proud he would have been to show off his 14 great-grandchildren (most of whom he never met!). Hope you'll visit Elliott's website to learn more about this one-of-a-kind individual. I remember his generosity, energy, persistence, ingenuity, curiosity, smile and laugh. He loved spending time with his kids, their spouses, his grandchildren and their spouses & would've loved his beautiful great-grandchildren. What do you remember??
Miri...I remember his long hugs and his beautiful hand writing.
Cindy...His beautiful head of hair, his laugh, all of his energy, the way he would interact with people, his hugs, his openness and so much more.
Sandie...Me too. Here was an excellent listener and was willing to be silly, spontaneous, creative (thinking of his idea of how to film airborne ant mating!) and always unconventional, in spite of how others might judge him. Talk about immunity! Miss him terribly.
Jeff--All of the above, plus I remember his ability to make and keep true friends (of all ages) his trust in us in making our life decisions and his pride in us. I also remember his crazy 50 drinking birds display. All those box wines lining his cabinets ($8.00 per box...) and his unending upbeat approach to problem solving.
I miss him, too.
Karen Petel Erenberg (Moshe's daughter)--We will always fondly and respectfully remember Elliot Royce who was also a great father to the Petel family.
Keren Petel (Ben's ex-wife)--So glad that our children know Saba (Grandpa) Elliott from our stories about him. And proud that his legacy continues to inspire us.
Sandie Taylor (dear family friend & Cindy's sister-in-law)--Beautiful tribute to Uncle Elliott. He was ‘one of a kind’.
Hillary Bearmon--I fully expected him to make it to 100; I mean, didn't we all?
Bob Friedman--Hats ON to everyone's Best Friend...Elliott!
Barb Friedman--Happy 101st Birthday today, “Uncle” Elliott!!! I will NEVER forget you!!! Love , Barbara Lee
