A tribute just in from Dr. Seuss...
My dear friend Elliott,
You knew you could,
You knew you would,
So you seldom said, "I should, I should"?
You got around without a car.
You went places near and far.
Greeting people along the way,
so you could very surely say,
"Glad to see you, it's a great day!"
Or at your table at the coffee shop,
where people often chose to stop.
You'd ask, "how's your family
and how about YOU?
Sit down and tell me just what's new".
Hardly went a day you had nothing to do.
Always on the go with Thing One and Thing Two.
So now you get to rest for a while,
your friends remember you with a smile.
Gratitude and salutations I do send,
for all you gave, many hearts you did mend.
All the times you reached out your hand to lend.
You made armfuls of friends to the very end.
Thanks for everything,
Dr. Seuss
P.S. Definitely no one more "youer" than you!
