Elliott loved St. Louis Park!
Elliott moved to St. Louis Park, a suburb of Minneapolis, in 1951 ("approx").
For most of his adult life (65 years +/-) he called it home.
He and Besse first lived on Ottawa Avenue (near Mtka. Blvd), but moved to
25th & Huntington (near Cedar Lake) where they raised their five children.
He later lived in Golden Valley and even St. Paul,
but returned to SLP in 2000 ("approx") to live in the Parkshore Senior Community,
conveniently located next to Wolfe Park and across from Byerley's and Target.
Elliott quickly made himself a recognized personality in the neighborhood.
He played the tuba in the St. Louis Park junior high school band
(see separate page "SLP Jr. High Band").

He volunteered at Park-Nicollet Clinic, serving drinks to patients waiting for the doctors.
He cleverly "made it his own" by dressing up as the "Cat-in-the-Hat".
He bought a 3-wheel recumbent tricycle to get around the neighborhood.
Later he added his signature "Cat-in-the-Hat" hat to his bike!

He walked across the street to Byerley's where he was hired
(its oldest employee!) to pass out food samples. He loved his job!

He later moved into the Excelsior and Grand apts. and soon became the unofficial "mayor" of the boulevard!
He loved tooling up and down the street, talking to all the shopkeepers and customers.
He became friends with everyone!
Elliott and his bike were soon riding in the SLP "Parktacular" summer parade.
