My Saba,
A month from today is my wedding day. This is the day I am to feel so much love and happiness as I embark on the next chapter of my life and start a family of my own. And you will be there in spirit and memories, but not in person. I am sad. I am sad that you won’t be standing under the Chuppa with me, won’t be dancing with us, won’t be holding your two newest great-grandchildren Hillel and Shira, and that you didn’t have the chance to meet my future husband Amir, who loved you just from all of our stories.
I had you in my life for 33 wonderful years, where I learned how to always be kind, curious, with childlike enthusiasm and so much generosity. You loved your family and your family loved you. We are all so lucky to have grown up knowing you and learning so many precious lessons from you. I will miss your emails telling me how you are doing and what projects you have in store. I will miss your excitement about everything. There are so few people who have your life attitude, and my mission and goal is to live life like you did--to the fullest, full of adventure, family, kindness, curiosity and love.
Thank you Saba for all you have given to me, and us. You brought our family closer and taught us that family is more important than many other things. Thank you for being one of my heroes. Thank you for my wonderful Aunts and Uncles.
I love you and I will miss you. I will celebrate your life with the whole family in one month from today!
